The key function of this role is to help management, account managers and staff achieve annual budgets for TV, digital and new business. Qualified candidates should have an interest in a career in multimedia advertising sales, as we seek to develop talent and grow our sales teams. During your first 18 months in this role, you will undergo training to become a Multimedia Advertising Salesperson for WKMG / News.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop multimedia sales presentations for local and national sales efforts

  • Provide availability information for account managers

  • Entering all TV and digital orders / reviews into Wide Orbit

  • Work with buyers / agencies and input into Wide Orbit

  • Resolve billing discrepancies and assist with collections

  • Submit production requests to graphic designers, copywriters, web developers, web operations and others to create and implement advertising content

  • Coordinate all projects and / or special sections related to new and existing advertisers and promotional campaigns (television and digital)

  • Monitor and optimize campaigns across all platforms and provide reports and information to representatives and customers

  • Assist Account Managers / Sales Managers in various tasks; should resolve scheduling issues, preemptions and traffic issues

  • Lead generation for all account managers by researching competitive media and using lead generation tools

  • Communicate with advertisers for creative elements and approvals, schedule changes and campaign performance as needed. Encourage upselling opportunities, where appropriate

  • Continuously develop your knowledge and sense of digital advertising

  • Reports to the General Sales Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field preferred

  • 1-2 years of related work experience in Internet Marketing, preferred combination or equivalent of education and experience

  • Experience in the sales / traffic department of a TV station appreciated

  • Experience with Windows programs, in particular Word, Power Point (advanced), Excel and Outlook

  • Previous experience with Wide Orbit software highly appreciated

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

  • Some knowledge of digital technologies

  • Understanding Nielsen and ComScore ratings

  • Proven, adaptable and flexible team player with the ability to focus on new priorities

  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to speak effectively with clients or employees of organizations

  • Ability to meet strict deadlines and complete work in a timely and accurate manner

  • Good organizational and time management skills essential
