Flipkart Merges Divisions to Create Unique Growth Charter Under Prakash Sikaria


With the aim of creating a unique Flipkart Growth charter, the e-commerce company is merging its “Customer & Marketing Org” with “Growth & Monetization Org” under the leadership of Prakash Sikaria, senior executive of the company. The announcement was made by Flipkart CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy in a letter to employees. Sikaria, who is Senior Vice President – Growth and Monetization, has been a partner at the firm since 2015.

“With the above change, Karthik Rajeshwaran, Priyanka Bhargav, Manjari Singhal, Rizwan Syed and Prasanth Naidu will report to Prakesh (Sikaria),” Krishnamurthy said, adding that the changes would take effect on January 1, 2022.

Sikaria has created a remarkable impact by launching effective initiatives such as Ads, Pluses, Supercoins, Games, Videos, Travel, and the Shopsy social commerce platform during her time with the business. Additionally, the ClearTrip travel platform, which was acquired by Flipkart, will continue to earn money for Sikaria.

Sikaria is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and Northwestern University – Kellogg School of Management. Under his leadership, Flipkart is making a splash in social commerce by making the most of social media communities to drive ecommerce sales. Reports indicate that social commerce is expected to represent a market opportunity of around $ 70 billion over the next several years.

Flipkart also launched Shopsy this year. The app allows Indians to start their business online without any investment. According to reports, the app continues to experience massive growth thanks to its consumers, sellers across the country. Since July 2021, Flipkart said Shopsy has received an astonishing response from consumers and resellers who have jumped onto the platform for their “buy and win” needs. Within 5 months of its launch, the app saw a 3.6x growth in new app downloads, breaking through the 10 million mark on the Google Play Store.
