BankUnited, as a sign of continued focus on providing SBA loans to qualifying small businesses, announced that it added Geeta singh and Heather Herdegen Quarter to its Small Business Finance (SBF) unit, a direct preferred lender to the SBA that actively finances small businesses nationwide. Singh brings over 20 years of industry experience to his new role, having most recently served as a Credit Analyst for the Wells Fargo Florida Business Banking Group in West Palm Beach. Herdegen Ward was responsible for business development for the SBA and held this position for five years before joining BankUnited, most recently at Midwest Regional Bank in West Palm Beach. Both will be based in West Palm Beach.
Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group has added three new members to its management team. Florida Mediators and Shareholders A. Michelle Jernigan, Robert A. Cole and Charles A. Mancuso will become equity directors, joining the six other directors already on the company’s panel. A nationally leading mediation firm with 11 offices in Florida and Alabama, including one in West Palm Beach, Upchurch Watson White & Max is known to facilitate reasonable agreements to resolve complex issues.
Bobbi prager was installed as the new president of the Atlantic region of Hadassah, Florida, which has 55 chapters and more than 24,000 members in Palm Beach, Martin and St. Lucia counties. most recently served as organizational vice president. This follows a successful career as a Hadassah volunteer in the Greater Washington, DC and Delaware areas, and the North Shore region. The Atlantic region of Hadassah in Florida is part of Hadassah, the Zionist Women’s Organization of America, which is a leader in medical research and development from its hospitals in Israel.
PEBB Enterprises, a private full-service real estate investment company, added JoAnn Kowalkowski as tenant coordinator. Kowalkowski is based at the PEBB office in Boca Raton. Kowalkowski is responsible for coordinating all tenant construction activities on ongoing projects. This includes supporting and assisting tenants with construction drawings, permits, utility hook-ups and signage to ensure every business opens on time. With over 30 years of experience, Kowalkowski brings significant expertise in commercial, office and industrial properties.
Oxbridge Academy announced that Scott Benarde joined the 9-12 Independent Prep School in West Palm Beach as an Assistant Director of Communications. Prior to joining Oxbridge, Benarde was Director of Communications for the Norton Museum of Art for nine years, and was also Director of Communications for the Jewish Community Center of the Greater Palm Beaches. Benarde’s career in communications began as a professional journalist, most notably as a pop music columnist for The Palm Beach Post and Sun-Sentinel.
