ASCI Manisha Kapoor appointed to ICAS Executive Committee
The Secretary General of the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI), Manisha Kapoor, has been appointed to the Executive Committee of the International Advertising Self-Regulatory Council (ICAS). She will be one of the four vice-presidents of the executive committee. Created by the European Advertising Standards Alliance in 2008, ICAS is a global platform of self-regulatory organizations (SROs).
Until April of this year, ASCI served on the Executive Committee as a member for a two-year term. From now on, Kapoor will play a leadership role on the committee until 2023.
In her role on the ICAS leadership team, Manisha will advance the self-regulation agenda globally. Some priority areas for ICAS for the next two years are:
- Promote self-regulation of advertising as an optimal mechanism for consumer protection
- Strengthening ICAS as a global alliance
- Facilitate knowledge sharing between SROs in order to establish best practices
- To support emerging SROs around the world
- Monitor global trends in the advertising ecosystem that impact self-regulation
- Work closely with established and emerging digital platforms to make the online space more transparent and fairer for consumers

ICAS is a globally established organization with members including national and regional SROs, international associations and industry associations representing advertisers, media and creative agencies, all working to make advertising and marketing communications legal. , honest and decent.
The other three vice-presidents are each from Canada, the United States and the World Federation of Advertisers. The President of ICAS is from the United Kingdom.
